Keep your sewing pins close at hand and easily accessible with this firm tomato pincushion. The tomato is stuffed with fiberfill to keep your pins secure and in place, and the attached strawberry sharpener is firmly stuffed with particles (emery abrasive powder) that sharpen your pins and remove rust. This sewing staple belongs in every crafters sewing room or studio.
-
Storage: You stick pins and needles into the cushioned surface so they stay organized and easy to grab.
-
Safety: The soft stuffing keeps sharp points from being exposed, reducing the chance of getting poked.
-
Portability: It keeps pins in one place, so you can move your sewing project around without losing them.
The tomato shape is mostly traditional and decorative, but it dates back to the 1800s. Back then, people believed placing a tomato on the mantel brought prosperity.
